Solvang celebrates its Danish roots with food, music and plenty of aebleskiver

The parade was hosted by Drew Wakefield, also known as Mr. Santa Barbara.
“It’s just a great opportunity for people to come together,” Wakefield said. “It’s the No. 1 greatest … Danish festival in the history of the United States right now.”
Wakefield also praised the town for being so welcoming and friendly. He said the event was great for children since it hosts kid-friendly events during the day but also has activities for adults later in the evening.
“Everyone has a great, wonderful, incredible time. People sit together, they talk together, they meet new friends. They come from all over the country to come here to Danish Days because, once again, it’s the No. 1 Danish festival in the United States right now,” Wakefield said.
